While returning to the surface from Angel Island, Amy suddenly found herself transported to the world of Avalon, where she along with many others from different worlds were asked to learn and harness Avalon’s magic in order to restore magic to the rest of the realm, and protect the multiverse from destruction. Yet despite the high stakes, there was a lot of downtime between events that allowed Amy to rest at times. While still learning magic (specifically the Healing and Dark magic types that were given to her at her arrival), Amy was also able to find a job, make friends from other realms, and spend some time for herself just to relax - something that she had not been able to do since being part of first the Resistance during the war against Eggman, then heading the Restoration afterwards. Even though she still wanted to do her part to save her world along with the rest of the multiverse, being in Avalon also gave Amy a chance to remember that she was still a young girl, and that she doesn’t always have to take all the responsibilities on her shoulders.

Being in Avalon also allowed Amy to spend more time with Shadow the Hedgehog, who had also arrived in Avalon from their world (though from an earlier point in time than Amy herself). Since they were the only two from their world in Avalon, Amy grew to rely a lot on Shadow, and even asked him to teach her how to fight hand-to-hand, in case she was ever disarmed and didn’t have her hammer to rely on. She also enjoyed spending time with him and learning more about him, more than she possibly would have been able to had they been back home, and eventually began to develop feelings for Shadow, similar to her long-time feelings for Sonic. Unfortunately they never had the chance to develop these feelings further before Shadow disappeared from Avalon shortly after.

Personality: It’s hard to talk about Amy Rose without bringing up her feelings for Sonic the Hedgehog. Her crush on the blue blur is infamous, and is usually the first thing people associate with her name – often to the point of either ridicule or making it the butt of a joke. Even among her friends or people in her world, Amy’s relentlessness to chase Sonic in hopes of getting him to return her feelings is often met with eyerolls or dismissal. And indeed, Amy has demonstrated a steadfast determination in trying to win Sonic’s heart, often to the point of focusing on it almost exclusively. She had even stated once that if she had to choose between Sonic and the entire world, then she would choose Sonic.

But the truth is, Amy’s crush on Sonic is just one part of the whole picture, and those strong feelings are indicative of her broader personality. Because Amy is simply someone who feels all of her emotions so intensely, and she often just can’t help presenting them outwardly. Along with her love for Sonic, Amy is also known for having a temper; she can be quite aggressive when she’s angry, and has lashed out with her hammer often enough that friends and foe alike are afraid to get on her bad side. When she’s happy, she speaks in a bubbly manner and smiles brightly, and she isn’t afraid to shed any tears when she’s sad.

More than anything, though, is the immense compassion that she feels for the people around her. Much of the trouble that Amy had fallen into during her earlier days of adventuring came from her desire to help others, despite perhaps not being entirely ready for the danger that came of those situations. But never the type to sit idly by, Amy still sought to help those that she came across that might need some assistance; whether it was protection, a gentle word, a nudge in the right direction, or a cheerful smile. No matter the circumstance, Amy would not leave anyone without help - if it’s something she can do, then she will, even if it puts her in physical danger, or even at the risk of burning herself out from overworking.

Because Amy is the type of person who takes matters into her own hands. She is someone who, after meeting a hero that had saved her life, did not wish to just sit around and wait for him to return, but followed after him instead. She is someone who - despite not having natural gifts of being super fast, or super strong, or super smart like her friends have, nor did she have any official training like others - was still eventually was able to become fast enough, and strong enough, and smart enough to be able to fight alongside them, to aid them in saving the world. After being kidnapped too many times, she grew better so she would no longer be a liability, so that she could protect those people that she cares about and help those weaker than herself. Her concern for others and unwavering determination are what make her a hero in her own right, and everything else simply followed suit.

At the end of the day, however, she is still just twelve years old, and sometimes her desire to help can, as mentioned before, lead to her burning herself out. That is what Amy was preparing to deal with more of - just on the cusp of another near world-ending crisis and knowing how much clean up will need to be done afterwards - when she found herself transported to the world of Avalon. And somehow, despite there also being a crisis in that world that needed her assistance, Amy was also able to learn to reconnect with the young girl she actually is, and allowed her to try and find that balance between her age and her responsibilities. Being in Avalon also presented her with a unique dilemma, after realizing that she had been falling in love with one of her friends from home, getting to spend more time with him and getting to know him better than she had back in their home world. Through discussion with friends and self-reflection, Amy was able to learn that there was enough room in her to love more than one person, and allowed her to pursue a relationship with someone else while still loving her blue blur hero.

Abilities & Inventory:

Abilities

Like many others from her world, Amy has a number of powers and abilities, listed here. Many of her skills are actually self-taught, so she is not as effective as those with official training. Many of her abilities are not super-human, but definitely above average, and are a result of her own practice and training, as opposed to being natural abilities.

Organizational and tactical skills - Amy was able to develop the skills needed to manage and oversee large operations, first with helping organize the Resistance during the war with Eggman, then as head of the Restoration to rebuild after the war. Amy also learned to think quick on her feet, and come up with strategies under pressure

Magic - While in the world of Avalon, Amy was able to learn and harness certain magical abilities from that world. While she was able to learn some specific spells, her main magical focuses were

Healing magic - While in Avalon, Amy was able to learn healing magic. She is able to heal non-mortal wounds, cure natural illnesses (non-magical), protective magic, physical enhancement magic (temporary increased strength, etc.) She cannot make anyone invulnerable or immortal, but the ability works on both animals and, to a small extent, plants. She is also able to cast healing magic across a group. It will do less than a concentrated healing spell would, but can be cast on more people at once to reduce the amount of time needed to heal each member of the party and ability Locking (temporarily limit someone to only using the last spell that they cast. The spell will be boosted significantly in power/skill, but they cannot use anything else until the lock wears off- beginning practice 1 minute, up to 30 minutes max).

Dark magic - While in Avalon, Amy was also able to learn dark magic. She is able to cast curses, jinxes, hexes, love enchantments, cause physical pain without injury, and has mild shadow manipulation

Inventory

Piko Piko Hammer - Amy’s main weapon, a large and heavy hammer that she seems to summon out of nowhere. It is mostly used for combat, but occasionally she uses the hammer for long-range attacks or for launching allies farther. In Dreamscapes, the hammer won’t have its additional abilities unless Amy is harnessing dreamotion, but she will still be able to use it as a melee weapon

Floral Illuminator - This necklace contains a small magical pearl and a magical lotus in a vial. Whisper "please light the way" to the bottle and it will cause all flowers within a 100 foot range to faintly glow, providing light in the dark

Mirror Mirror - A special compact mirror, encrusted with strange symbols on the outside. As she stares at her reflection in it and think of another mirror, her reflection will disappear and she will be able to see out of the mirror she has in mind

Enchanted Messenger Bag - A messenger bag enchanted with the Inventory Slots potion. With the Inventory Slots potion, the messenger bag has magical space for up to 15 items, up to 99 of each item

Suitability & Plans: Amy came from a point in time in her world that she was starting to feel overwhelmed by the pressure or running a large organization, and didn’t have much time to rest even after having just saved the world - yet again - with her friends. When she arrived in Avalon, she had been learning to become comfortable with enjoying day-to-day activities again, such as going shopping and cooking and hanging out with friends. While she had been making good progress with being able to just act her age while in Avalon, I would love to let her continue that here, as well as getting to meet new people. She is very cheerful and social for the most part, and is able to make friends easily with others. She also enjoys going on adventures, and would be happy getting to explore the world and seeing more of it.
